A voyage of discovery to SOUTHAMPTON DOCKS!

There are many activities going on at All Saints' which you might like to get involved with. Lots of trips are organised to places of interest in the region.

Earlier this year a group set off for Southampton Docks on a voyage of discovery!

Trip organiser was Jane Schulze, “we knew we were going to be in for a treat but we were unaware we were going to have quite such a treat”.
“The main aim of our day was to view the Queens Elizabeth and Victoria in dock together - in itself a rare occasion. Well, we didn't see just the two Queens but in all SIX cruise ships were docked in the port of Southampton - the most at one time (according to the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph) for more than 50 years!! From our little pleasure boat we were able to sail around Southampton Water viewing all these ships.

On the day we visited an estimated 18,000 passengers arrived at the docks returning from and heading to various worldwide destinations. The port was especially busy on that day because of a surge in demand for cruise holidays in recent years .It was a very memorable day for all and I would recommend a trip west.”

Future outings are being planned to London to visit the Foundling Museum together with the Dickens Museum (both in the Bloomsbury area) and later a return visit to Camden Market and  Regents Canal .Details can be found in All Saints' Church and all are welcome.
